I constantly say how blessed I am because God can be the only explanation as to how I was lucky enough to find Isaiah. Isaiah saved my life, he’s given me more love than I could ever dream of. He makes me the happiest person alive every second of the day. He is my best friend, my lover, my everything.
This is the story Isaiah likes to share about how we met:
It all began on a hot summer day (spring if we want to get technical.) The day was June 9th, 2014. Isaiah being the kind man that he is, went to church for a math training that his friend couldn’t attend. When Isaiah picked his seat, he had no idea that his seat would change his life completely. As he took his seat, he looked up and saw the most beautiful woman he had ever seen walking towards him. It was as if an angel floated to him. That angel had a name, and her name was… Norma.
All day Isaiah stared at her. He wished his eyes would say what his heart felt. He went to lunch with her, hoping just to talk to her. He sat next to her, just to hear her voice. He loved the feeling he felt as he stared into her eyes. He knew that this feeling was something special, unlike anything before. It was… love at first sight. He felt it, she felt it, and their eyes said it all.
As Isaiah walked out of the church, he feared that he would never see her again. He couldn’t risk not knowing what could have been so he sent an email, an email that changed their lives.
One training. One seat. One email. Amazing how even the smallest things can change your life. With God, all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
I have to admit that I felt the exact same way… I can honestly say that it was love at first sight, somehow I just knew. My heart knew that he was the one.
As I walked out the church I was devastated because I thought I’d never see him again. I thought about him the entire drive home. I thought about his lovely name. I thought about his beautiful eyes (gosh how I love those eyes.) I thought about his personality, he was just so perfect. It was the biggest, “What If” of all time.
Once I arrived home, I received an email. The first word I saw was, ISAIAH!!! What!!? It was him! I will never forget his cheesy email, he said, “Hey Norma, If you have time, I was hoping you could explain the telephone activity. You mentioned it but I didn’t get the whole thing. You said you liked the idea. 832-***-****.” Lol? I immediately knew what this was about 🙂 I was so excited that I texted right away, but my texts wouldn’t go through! I emailed him back to let him know, and he called right away. Once we were finally able to communicate, we never stopped. We talked every day. We knew that we both wanted to be together forever. A few months later, Isaiah proposed right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland. It was a dream come true.
The wedding planning was so much fun, but we wanted to get married as soon as possible. We wanted our happily ever after to start. God was always on our side so just four months after our engagement, we were able to marry in the church of our dreams and have the most romantic reception in a beautiful venue.
This month we will celebrate 4 years of marriage but somehow it feels like a lifetime. I have found the one whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4
